Travel & Expenses Project - I developed a T&E Dashboard that creates visibility and awareness of spending behaviors for the Latin America region. I was able to download, analyze, and summarize SAP data in order to prepare a Dashboard that would present all the data and in a simple, consolidated, and user friendly manner. Working on this project gave me the opportunity to better my analysis skills and fully understand the process to the extent where I felt comfortable enough to make recommendations on how to better it going forward. I was also given the independence to execute the project how I best understood. As the internship came to an end, I created a How To document which states step by step on how to maintain the document up to date and successfully updated the Dashboard on a monthly basis.

Business Partnering - I worked closely with Plant Administration, HR, and IT departments presenting the monthly BvA's. I was able to download data from SAP, prepare reports in Excel and analyze them on a monthly basis; having the opportunity to quickly understand the variances between budget and spending as well as to explain these reports to the corresponding business partners. I also successfully performed month end and quarter end close journal entries in SAP, accrual analysis for spending, balance sheet reconciliation analysis and allocation of charges. Due to various corporate reports throughout the year, I helped to prepare capital presentations and consolidate reports for the Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP), March Update (MU), and June Update (JU). Capital Projects- I developed capital spending metrics that helped keep track of site spending as well as open projects by project leader. In order to create more visibility to the site of all open projects and progress, weekly e-mail status updates were sent to project leads and management. I worked with various Business Partners and presented progress to the Site Leadership Team (SLT) in order to strengthen their compromise and obtain their help in solving roadblocks. Meetings with site project leads were scheduled as needed in order to fill out the close out forms for projects already completed and placed in service. My main goal was to close 85% of all site open projects previous to 2013 in order to record correct asset value and depreciation in the financial statements. In these efforts 97% of all projects were either closed or identified as on going. Due to this improvement, I obtained my Lean Yellow Belt Certification. SOX Compliance - I successfully executed year-end compliance testing and helped external/internal auditors with various requests. As well as made sure that that all my journal entries were correct, booked in the corresponding period and had the necessary backup information.
