With diverse partners we engage communities in planning, run innovative programs, and win policy change at the local, regional and state levels.

The Social Transformation Project partners with leaders from progressive organizations, intermediaries, and funders to strategize and work together in new ways. Their shared goal is to build lasting power and make long-term structural change for a more just and sustainable world.Created new communications delivery systems and engaging content through email newsletters, blog, and social media channels; supported networks of leaders and nonprofit consultants via peer coaching, listserv management, and the creation of online member directories; oversaw multiple web and data management projects and contractors; developed deep familiarity with principles of organizational development, change management, and other transformational leadership skills; wrote and edited grant reports and proposals, tracked grant administration requirements.

Managed communications for an innovative nonprofit dedicated to increasing peoples' decision-making power over their land and water. Launched an ambitious provincial ballot initiative campaign, supervised two staff members, developed communications strategies to boost member engagement, contributed to fundraising and organizing efforts with writing, editing, message development and design.

Coordinated outreach and public engagement programs related to energy efficiency and waste reduction in Alameda County. Developed and implemented enforcement and inspection protocol for countywide plastic bag ban. Planned, promoted, and presented at workshops and events for homeowners, realtors, contractors, and others.StopWaste is the Alameda County Waste Management Authority and the Recycling Board operating as one public agency.Project management: Managed and implemented programs to promote residential energy efficiency upgrades, including public events, earned and paid media strategies, email marketing campaign; developed and executed enforcement and inspection protocols for countywide plastic bag ban.Public engagement: Planned and presented at dozens of energy efficiency workshops and events for homeowners, realtors, and contractors; served as secretary for monthly roundtable with staff from 14 cities; provided technical assistance, conducted outreach and inspections for countywide plastic bag ban.Contract administration and grant reporting: Submitted monthly and quarterly reports for state and federal grants, tracked deliverables, wrote interim and final narrative reports, and met projected budgets.

Directed and implemented all aspects of communications strategy for national nonprofit policy advocacy organization with extensive national media exposure. Management: Hired and supervised full-time staff and interns with regular performance evaluations; developed and managed departmental budget and strategic plan; oversaw the development and maintenance of four web sites; supervised consultants for web, PR, design, video production.Media relations:Coordinated PR and media relations as TICAS was cited in more than 1,000 articles a year; served as spokesperson at conferences and events, in print and broadcast media; developed strong relationships with reporters, who valued my ability to clearly explain complex data and policy issues.Collaboration and organizing: Helped build and lead successful coalitions with diverse group of other national organizations and associations; engaged a list of nearly 100,000 people in advocacy and consumer protection campaigns through email marketing, online petitions, social media, and education.

Researched election results to determine effectiveness of coalition voter outreach program. Organized and analyzed voting data; developed surveys and conducted interviews with community and faith-based coalition members.

Managed all aspects of canvassing office. Recruited, interviewed, and trained staff of 30. Did payroll, record-keeping, and deposits. Personally raised over $10,000 for DNC in three weeks, and several thousand for environmental causes.
