CurrentMain activities: - Intensive use of numerical tools applied to capture fluid-structural interaction (FSI) phenomena with a focus on divergence and flutter of structures exposed to oscillations induced by the vortex wake; - Calibration of transient turbulence models and validation of aerodynamic loading (CFD and Matlab routines) using pressure coefficients obtained through wind tunnel tests and field measurements, applied to the design of high-lift structures exposed to adverse weather conditions (ABL wind gust) under ground effect (variable power spectral wind profile); - Menaged research and development activities with academic and private institutions focusing on the characterization of high-lift composite devices and layered structures (highly anisotropic) exposed to thermo-mechanical loads, combining numerical techniques (CFD/FEA/IBM), semi-analytical models and parameter calibration through extensive experimental campaigns.
