During my PhD, I was supervised by prof. Domício Proença Jr.. My thesis discussed the enduring identity crisis of the field of Management from a philosophy of engineering's perspective. It argued that although management researchers have been complaining about their simultaneous lack of relevance for practitioners and rigor for academia, their framing of the problem and the solution Evidence-Based Management (EBMgt) had been proposing was wrong. I provided another framing for the problem - management is a relatively new field, in which a proto-science and proto-profession are competing with (sometimes cannibalizing) each other for people, prestige and resources - and a set of propositions for changing what EBMgt was about.

China-Brazil Business Council is formed by two independent sections, in Brazil and in China, and is committed to the promotion of dialogue between companies of the two countries. The CBBC focuses its actions on the structural topics surrounding the Sino-Brazilian relationship. The goal of the institution is to contribute to the improvement of the environment for trade and mutual investments, as well as to understand and analyze the new trends observed in the dynamic relationship between China and Brazil. To better achieve its goals, the Council intends to deepen its relationship with its member companies and institutitions, counting on them as sources of information in the quest to understand the new phase of Brazil-China relations. Currently, the CBBC is formed by approximately 70 of the most relevant Brazilian and Chinese companies and institutions with investments and business in both countries.
