Edith Apoo has good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, good analytical skills, great attention to detail, and is result oriented. She is pursuing the fellowship actuarial professional examinations (Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary qualification - CERA) from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries UK where she has passed six (6) fellowship exams to date. She is a Certified Actuarial Analyst and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Actuarial Science. She has over 10 years of experience in risk regulation, risk management, risk calibration, actuarial valuations, solvency management, investment management, and financial analysis in the life re/insurance, Non-life re/insurance, and Health re/insurance fields. For the past six months to date, her purpose is to supervise reinsurance entities through solvency reviews and other prudential reviews with the aim of protecting policyholder interests at the Bermuda Monetary Authority. For over six years, she ensured effective risk management and compliance with insurance laws and regulations at the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda, prior to which she specialized in health insurance pricing and reserving at AAR Health Insurance for more than four years. AchievementsParticipation in the IFRS17 Key Performance Indicator Remapping working group, Participation in the successful implementation of Risk Based Supervision, development of Capital adequacy and prudential regulations (Risk Based Capital Framework and Model), Guidance Notes including The Supervisory ladder of Intervention, the Valuation of short and long-term liabilities, the RBS Manual, and the stress testing framework and model, calibration of capital charges to major and sub-risks, organized over 50 pieces of training for the Authority staff and the Insurance Industry on the developed documents and models stated above. Participated in developing an interim actuarial report on the proposed National Health Insurance Scheme whose report was concluded in August 2022, She also participated in developing an actuarial report regarding the financial viability of the Parliamentary Pension Scheme to enhance the development of their 5-year strategic plan for the financial years starting from 2018 to 2023.
