Edith Hoffmann Fassberg founded Hoffmann Fassberg Law & Mediation LLC in 2023. After more than two decades working in corporate law, Edith made a personal commitment to follow her passion for mediation in the area of family law, inclusive of divorce, separation, and co-parenting. Her own divorce, coupled with those of many friends and colleagues, highlighted the need for effective resolution instead of the otherwise costly and combative road that often leaves families, especially children, traumatized and suffering financially. Beyond her mediation practice, Edith also acts as a parenting coordinator. This holistic approach allows her to work with clients, not only during the process of separation, but in those critical days and months that follow. Through her practice, which is centered around empathy, understanding and active listening, she instills trust and openness and, in turn, enables clients to achieve resolutions best suited to their individual family needs. In addition, Edith serves as an advisor – assessing and counseling on financial, legal, and custodial aspects of the divorce proceedings where necessary. Edith's personal journey taught her to not only overcome obstacles, but to persevere, from a young age. Growing up in the Czech Republic and then escaping with her mother and siblings to Germany as refugees, she came to New York in her early twenties – imbuing her new life with a sense of purpose and commitment as she embarked on a career in law. After graduating magna cum laude from New York University School of Law and admittance into the New York Bar, she embarked on a successful career as a corporate attorney at Davis Polk, a distinguished New York City law firm. Edith also served as co-founder and general counsel of the biotech advisory firm, The Trout Group. In 2023, she obtained her certification in mediation from the New York Peace Institute. A dedicated mother of three, Edith lives with her children on the Upper West Side. In addition to her work in law and mediation, she teaches and has successfully represented several asylum seekers in New York.
