After more than 25 years of experience in higher education, I present highly developed skills in disability and accommodative services, teaching and curriculum development, advising and retention, and reading strategies for college/university students. I have directed a disability services program in both a public university and private college and have worked privately with a school neuro-psychologist to complete comprehensive evaluations. I am experienced in program reviews for disability services and in developing and implementing a first-year experience and mentoring program that resulted in an aggregate mean first-second year retention rate over an eight-year period of 91%. I have served as a review panelist for The College Board and on the Board of Advisors for Disability Compliance for Higher Education. However, my most important achievement was co-founding Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society (DAPi), the only academic collegiate honorary that recognizes high-achieving students with disabilities. DAPi has chartered over 230 chapters at colleges and universities in 39 states and the District of Columbia. DAPi awards a scholarship annually to an active, accomplished undergraduate member of the honor society.
