I am a former NYC science teacher, who now trains teachers to integrate technology and to use best practices in the classroom. My heart lies in helping new teachers improve their science teaching by increasing student engagement, critical thinking questioning techniques, and effective classroom management. I have also trained mathematics teachers in using technology, such as Geometer's Sketchpad, to bolster student achievement in math. My goal is to mentor a new generation of teachers that can effectively teach our kids the 21st century skills they need to succeed.

I worked at Seward Park High School for nine years until I gave birth to my first daughter in 1989. During my time as a teacher, I taught Regents chemistry and biology. Additionally, I developed a research curriculum in which I prepared students to enter the Borough Wide Manhattan Science Fair. A significant portion of the student population at that time was either Chinese or Spanish. Aside from performing my duties as a teacher and curriculum designer, I acted as a mentor to many of my top students who did not begin their American education until they entered the country during their high school years. Recognizing their potential, competitive work ethic, and strong mathematical and scientific abilities, I encouraged many of them to apply for prestigious 7-year biomedical programs throughout the city such as the Sophie Davis program established at City College. After helping them complete the writing portions of their applications and preparing them for interviews, some of them have completed these programs and are now close family friends.
