Food Writer | Editor | TeacherEet Dit [Unlimited] Jul 2008 - Jan 2014The NetherlandsThe name of my Dutch company was "eet dit", which means "eat this" and phonetically resembles how my first name Edith is pronounced in Dutch. I wrote food stories, recipe and proofread the latter (in Dutch). Next to that, I developed my own cooking course, which was all about understanding what's happening in the pots and pans. Food writerI’m a food writer, with a huge knowledge of ingredients and cooking techniques. I write fun, easy to read stories and always with some little extra information about cooking and eating. Amongst others, I write for magazines like Home of Cooking and Bouillon Magazine. Recipe writerWhen you love to cook, you also love to make up new recipes. At least I do. I like it to be simple, but love to give each recipe a little twist. Just like I did in the little cook book Sorry, with 7 recipes to say sorry (for Snor Publishers - in Dutch and English - see below as well). Proofreader recipes I make sure that the readers get the needed directions how to use all the ingredients, and - sassy as I can be - I also rewrite culinary errors or cooking myths when I see them. As a proofreader I work(ed) for various publishers and text agencies. Examples of cookbooks I worked on are: Argentinisima (by Carola Verschoor), Appeltaart (Apple Pie, by Janneke Philippi), Aan tafel (a coddle of various cook books by Cyril Lignac) and Handboek Inmaken & Bewaren (Handbook for pickling and preservation).Cooking teacher "Cooking techniques explained"Although I believe cooking doesn’t have to be regarded as rocket science, I strongly feel that knowledge of the basic techniques do make you a better cook. That’s why incorporated a lot of cooking experiments in my cooking classes for inquisitive home cooks, to find out what’s the best way to cook a dish.Although I live in California now, I am still available as a food and recipe writer, editor or proof-reader in Dutch. Just sent me a message!
