Dr. Maes currently is a Director Health economics at Planet Strategy Group which provides consulting services in the Life Sciences Industry worldwide. Edith is an expert in the field of health economics, health care policy and management for over 20 years. In the past years, she developed several conceptual frameworks and decision-analytic models to support market access and differential pricing of pharmaceuticals in the different regions in the world. Earlier in her career, she specialized in health care management, policy research and technology assessment. Her work has been presented at scientific symposia and published in medical and health economic journals. She works for Planet Strategy Group, a management consulting firm, and has been a Honorary Research Fellow at Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. From 2006 to 2008, she was Vice President of the Center for Leadership and Management, at Management Sciences for Health (MSH), an international non-profit institute in Cambridge-Boston, MA, USA, working on strengthening health care systems worldwide. From 2003 to 2006, she was Associate Professor and the Director of International Graduate Programs (MSc, MBA, and DBA) at Maastricht School of Management, The Netherlands. She started her career as hospital administrator at Leuven University Hospitals in Belgium and later became Director, Health Economics & Policy, at Quintiles Europe, an international health care research organization. Edith holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Maastricht School of Management, Maastricht University, The Netherlands. She also holds a Master of Health Services Management degree from Eastern University, Philadelphia, USA.
