KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership – Leading a team of 8 HR Officers who oversee delivery of HR Shared services to the business comprising of 4,500 permanent employees, 1,100 fixed term contractors, 900 third party contractors, 10 Expatriates and 150 Interns. Employees supported are based in the main HQ, Nairobi, Coast, Rift, Western and Mt. Kenya regionsHR Service Desk Management – Oversee running of HR helpdesk as the single point of contact for employee queries, HR feedback and complaints, ensuring timely response and resolution hence promote operational excellence and timely service delivery to staffStaff on-boarding – Manage the on-boarding process to ensure smooth transition of new employees into the organization, end to end process includes offer signing through to functional inductionExpatriate management – managing the process of international mobility to ensure non-Kenyan staff working in Kenya have relevant documents e.g. work permits, tax registration certificate as per Kenyan lawHR Policies and Practices – In charge of implementation and management with a focus on ensuring review and amendment of current policies where needed.KEY ACHIEVEMENTS100% compliance with Immigration legislation for employees and contractors working in SafaricomAutomation of twenty-one (21) different appointment letter templates which has greatly reduced errors and workload for the HR Shared Services team and ensured efficiency and delivery of appointment letter requests within the set SLA’sSuccessfully spearheaded the implementation of Internet Protocol Contact Center system (IPCC) with an aim of enhancing the user experience for HR callers. This led to reduction of call abandonment rate from 7% to 2% & operational efficiency for HR Service DeskFormulation of acting allowance policy, young workers policy and on-boarding policy in the FY 2019/2020
