Current• Froze County property taxes for 5 consecutive years • Repealed the County Home Energy Tax on electricity, natural gas and heating oil bills. • Eliminated a planned 16.5% property tax increase by the prior administration• Entered a public-private partnership to transform the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum into a world-class sports-entertainment destination at no cost to taxpayers.• Helped create 20,000 private-sector jobs by attracting and retaining businesses in Nassau County.• Protecting the environment and saving taxpayers $233 million through a public-private partnership with United Water for operation of Nassau’s wastewater treatment plants.• Saved taxpayers $30 million annually by entering into a public-private partnership with NICE Bus.• Created thousands of jobs and generated more than $140 million in economic benefits by turning Nassau County into Hollywood East for the Film and TV Industry. Nassau now has 2 production studios with 9 sound stages. • Earned the Governor’s New York State Government Efficiency Award for cutting $330 million in government waste • Formed a public-private partnership with the New York Cosmos for their practice facility at Mitchel Field.• Opened professional Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park at no cost to taxpayers.• Raised funds to keep the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged alive• Opened up the American Armor Museum and Autoseum in Nassau County• Started Nassau County Cruise to The Show Car Show and Parade• Consolidated 10 government departments• Assisted young families and seniors by creating of more than 1,000 new housing opportunities, with hundreds located in transit-oriented hubs such as Mineola and Farmingdale. • Created 70 new housing units for veterans and active duty military.
