I led work on potential mergers and acquisitions over many years… Show more Reporting to the CEO, I was responsible for leading Virgin Atlantic's strategy, directing fleet and network planning, revenue budgeting and forecasting, schedule planning, slots acquisitions and management, airline alliance partnerships work, revenue management and pricing. My priority was to maximise profitability by deploying the fleet efficiently and yield-managing passenger revenue of over £2 billion a year. I led work on potential mergers and acquisitions over many years, including alliance partnership studies and negotiations which resulted in a strategic joint venture with Delta Airlines. I negotiated regularly with partners and suppliers including the two leading aircraft manufacturers and multiple airline partners to achieve commercially-benificial results for VIrgin. I sponsored the introduction of the A330 into the Virgin Atlantic fleet and was also sponsor for Boeing 787s which joined the Virgin fleet in 2014. I directed major change projects including Virgin Atlantic's entry to shorthaul flying in 2012 and 2013. For this, I led a successful project to plan the business, obtain Heathrow slots through regulatory action, negotiate an advantageous deal with the key supplier and implement the start-up in a space of just four months.The title of my role, but not the responsibilities, changed to Director Airline Planning in May 2013.
