In January 2015 I gained PGeo & EurGeol status with the IGI.Since late 2006 I have been self employed, and am involved in a long term exploration project for Glencore Zinc Ireland, working with BRG Ltd. Initially this was core-logging and surveying, as the project grew this evolved into responsibility for 3d modelling on Leapforg, training junior geologists, planning & running their directional drilling programe and target generation.I spent a number of years working for small contract firms conducting Gold & Base Metal exploration in Dominican Republic, Angola, Scotland, Ireland (North and South) and USA involving everything from basic mapping to core loggingUpon completion of my MSc I continued in employment with FQM on copper exploration in the DRC and Zambia until late 2003, where I was part of the exploration team on both Lonshi & Frontier deposits.During my M.Sc. I conducted my thesis with First Quantum Minerals Gold operations Connemara Mine in Zimbabwe. .
