I developed a full technology solution for Investment Fiduciaries. It was a low cost, flexible, cloud based architecture which reduced the cost and complexity of technology investments. Infrastructure is still voodoo but, with cloud, you don't even need to pretend you understand it. If you career is based on infrastructure, better find a cloud provider to work for. Or better yet, move up the technology stack to integration or data or solutions.

Providing strategic business and technology services for emerging organizations

As CIO for Commonwealth, I was responsible for developing long term vision for the direction of technology for the IB/D market. Along with creating the vision, I was charged with building and sustaining the ecosystem to support 5000+ customers and employees. We created a common, pure web based tool set centered around the "customer" for Advisors and employees.

I worked with partners to create a company dedicated to extracting maximum value from telecommunications transactions. Our approach was to leverage technologies from the financial industry, specifically real time, big data analysis to create margin management tools. By leveraging existing call detail data, and applying trading systems logic, we were able to provide near real time bandwidth transaction margin forecasts. I raised millions from top tier VCs and grew the company from the ground up to 35 employees.

As one of the few bi-lingual engineers with training on VAX/VMS systems, I was the senior technical guy for our customers, I translated VAX/VMS and PDP training and taught these topics to Japanese field engineers. I was also a translator for Japanese/American business dealings.
