Ed represents companies and governments in international trade disputes. He has provided assistance to government trade ministries in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, China, Mongolia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Africa in the implementation of antidumping and countervailing duty laws, safeguards, rules of origin, free trade agreements, and investment laws. Much of this work involves the WTO agreements. Ed has participated in dispute resolution proceedings under the WTO, GATT, NAFTA and US-Canada FTA. He has also participated in antitrust investigations involving the extraterritorial application of US and EU unfair competition law to Asian companies and governments. Ed has participated in over 270 trade remedy cases involving products from semiconductors to shrimps and economies as diverse as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Australia, Ecuador, South Africa, Egypt, UAE, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Norway, Kosovo, Turkey, US, UK and EU.Ed has taught ASEAN courses in Singapore, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, US and Thailand. He provides advice to major corporations regarding developments in ASEAN. Ed has served as a consultant to the ASEAN Secretariat and advises the Timor-Leste government on its accession to ASEAN. He has also advised on economic integration in other regions (Gulf Cooperation Council, Greater Tumen Initiative, African Tri-Partite FTA).Ed frequently speaks on international trade issues and has provided commentary on trade issues to the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, USA Today, Washington Post, Straits Times, South China Morning Post, New Straits Times, Bangkok Post, Channel News Asia, Reuters, Bloomberg, BBC and CNBC.
