I’m glad you’re here, and I’m sorry we had to meet like this. Despite its potential, LinkedIn in the consulting/HR/OD space I occupy is something of a wasteland of posturing, fluff, mind-numbing automated salesmanship, and general noise. Talented providers and thinkers quickly find themselves overshadowed by those attempting to profit from the repetition of meaningless and/or inaccurate platitudes which water down the perceived importance of real work in this space.I’ve never climbed Everest. I don’t have folksy stories about time spent with celebrities, athletic or executive. I didn’t learn seven keys to leadership while backpacking across a foreign continent. I’m just a guy with an engineering degree and 20+ years of experience doing for your leadership team what nobody else can: I speed it up without first slowing it down, increase cross-functional collaboration without adding chaos, and increase accountability without adding bureaucracy... all at once. Skeptical? You should be. By conventional wisdom as espoused here in the abyss, what I do should require 1-2 years, a small gaggle of consultants and firms, and a price tag in the multimillions. It should also slow you down for a few quarters at the outset, and ultimately force a trade-off between speed and accountability. When I say you can have both with no slowdown, and that I need no more than a quarter and a single, low-six-figure invoice to deliver them, you should wonder if I’m for real.I’m glad you’re here because it will give you the chance to learn that I am. I suggest you start at IterateNow.com/IRL and go from there. And I’m sorry we had to meet like this because most often I meet new leaders by referral, which is a much easier and higher trust way to start a conversation. Still, let’s connect! I’m a collaborator and a listener. I enjoy learning more about what business leaders and executives face "in real life." I tend to make the most sense to COO's, CEO's, Chiefs of Staff, and anyone else who loses sleep at night wondering whether the organization will actually hit the commitments it has made. By the way, I do have the other things you’d expect: well designed simulations, workshops, keynotes, etc. I’m always happy to chat about those too.--Ed
