My expertise is in the analysis of language in social contexts. I have been trained to analyze discourse and social practices based on theories of power relations. As a result, I have developed skills that allow me to identify situations where there are unequal relations, uneven access to resources, underrepresentation of diverse groups, silencing of diverse voices, etc. Those situations could be immersed in ideologies of racism, sexism, ableism and ageism that provoke discrimination.Apart from my passion for research, I am also a passionate teacher who loves to be in contact with students. By combining my experience as a second language student and teacher and my knowledge of grammar, I have become a competent teacher.
