Schroders is a global asset manager with more than 750 billion AUM. It is a leading provider of active asset management, advisory and wealth management services. Working inside the intermediary clients unit in Milan allowed me to gather exposure on the distribution of proprietary funds to commercial banks, family offices and other asset managers through the nets of private bankers and wealth advisors.Main tasks and responsibilities: - Quantitative analysis: Developed models and conducted a broad range of analyses and comparisons on financial instruments. (I.E. Demonstrate the alpha generation ability of proprietary funds in different market scenarios)- Clients' reports and requests: Assisted clients with their requests and provided them with support material. That included both recurrent reports and customised requests.- Marketing and support material: Assisted the team in the production of marketing material to support to facilitate the interactions with the clients (branded emails, PowerPoint slide shows, Excel sheets)- CRM and database: helped to maintain the contacts' database updated, managing new requests, and checking the status of old ones.- HQ reporting: worked with the CRM (customer relationship management) and CS (Client Support) teams representing an entry point for standard or customised requests to the London HQ or other branches

I gathered invaluable experience on how the financial industry works and on the broader financial markets.Main task and responsibilities:- Clients' trade orders: I carried out different clients trading orders using different execution strategies based on the nature of their request (VWAP, TWAP, POV)- Daily market briefings: I took part in daily meetings held by the traders and the research analysts in which the most important news regarding macroeconomic and corporate decisions were discussed, to try to evaluate the possible effects on the financial markets.- Trading and Investment ideas: Conducted fundamental and technical analysis to come up and propose intraday trading opportunities and longer term investment ideas.- Company profiles: while in the investment banking department I assisted the team in the creation of company profiles to be proposed to clients for a possible deal origination.Company analysis: in the asset management department I helped the team with their tasks of company analysis and participated to a on-site visit of a company to see the plant and talk to the management.
