The Italian Cultural Institute is an official body of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed at promoting and strengthening diplomatic ties between Italy and Japan. The Institute provides several services to the Japanese public, such as language courses and certifications, assistance for scholarships in Italy, procedures of pre-enrollment in Italian universities, cultural events and festivals.During my internship at the Institute, I have been involved in multiple activities which covered all the areas of services provided. I contributed with linguistic support in group-related activities with Japanese students of Italian language. I also created informational brochures, researched contacts for event scheduling and reviewed and proofread promotional materials.Moreover, I have been directly involved in some of the main yearly events organized by the Institute, notably the XVIIth edition of the Italian Film Festival (in collaboration with the newspaper Asahi Shimbun, with an average audience of 15.000 people), the first edition of the Italian Design Day (a worldwide event aimed at promoting contemporary Italian design) and the Italian Book Fair (which included stalls for the selling of books, a photography exhibition and several conferences).

I have been working as a librarian in the city library of Civitanova Marche, collaborating with the Cultural Office and the Tourism Office of the same municipality.My main tasks in the library included front desk service to users, book inventory and translation of promotional materials in english.Furthemore, I served as a foreign language assistant at the tourist office, adopting predominantly english and german. During my service, I also actively participated in the organization of the Futura Festival, a yearly cultural event hosting leading intellectuals and entertaining hosts from Italy and beyond.
