Born and raised on the island of Sardinia, Italy, Edoardo Lenza started learning piano at 4-years-old. He developed an interest in Romantic music by listening to Pollini’s Chopin recordings and went on to pursue a formal education in classical piano. After completing his high school studies, Edoardo left Sardinia to start a Bachelor of Music course at Royal Holloway University of London, where he studied with Prof. Helen Leek and James Kirby. As a study-abroad scholarship recipient, he continued his studies at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, under the guidance of Prof. Stephen McIntyre. During the exchange year in Australia, he started a collaboration with pianist Samuel Colcheedas, performing piano duet repertoire around Victoria. After his graduation in 2017, he was awarded a prize by Royal Holloway for performance excellence, and was invited to return to the UK in 2018 for an alumni solo recital. After graduating, Edoardo returned to Cagliari, Sardinia to continue his postgraduate education in Piano and Chamber music, under the guidance of Maestro Orio Buccellato and Giulio Biddau. As winner of the Conservatorio di Cagliari’s piano competition, in 2021 he made his orchestral debut as soloist, performing Beethoven’s Concerto n. 3 in C minor. After completing his studies, Edoardo continued performing in solo and chamber music concerts, on top of participating in masterclasses and summer schools with notable international musicians, including Leslie Howard and Enrico Pace. Looking for further academic development, in 2023 he left Italy to pursue a Master of Music degree at Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, under the guidance of Prof. Jean-Louis Haguenauer.
