I am Pioneer Fellow at ETH Zurich and founder of SUSTAIN (website to be released soon) where we build, monitor, and optimise a digital twin of a geological carbon storage reservoir. By relying on unique and low-cost sources of data, we can provide a monitoring solution that is continuous, autonomous, and extremely affordable for CO2 storage operators. We are looking for motivated people to join us! My previous role as a post-doc at ETH and USI involved simulating the evolution of fracture networks with applications to enhanced geothermal systems. This entailed working with high-performance simulators on supercomputers, using concepts from computational geomechanics, and fracture mechanics. My expertise in rock mechanics stems from completing a PhD at ETH Zurich that involved developing hydro-mechanical numerical models to simulate how fluids flow within fractured rock in the crust. This entailed building a hydraulic fracturing finite element model in C++, as well as developing novel methodologies to simulate fracture growth.
