A professional life spent in the ICT sector, from research to technical management (Politecnico di Torino) up to my current position of CTO with LINKS Foundation. Throughout all my career I kept the same (large) amount of curiosity for new technologies and innovation in ICT, and the effects they have on efficiency of products and processes.Even if I formally always worked in the academic/research context (public and private), I am more thrilled by the impact of innovation on real life and business than by technology itself.My background is in distributed systems and internetworking. I was lucky enough to be present at the beginning and the evolution of Internet technologies, having an active role - as a young engineer - in the design and development of the first Italian Internet (https://www.garr.it/it/news-e-eventi/eventi/conferenza-garr-2011?showall=&start=7).From 2001 to 2019 I was with ISMB (Istituto Superiore Mario Boella), which then became LINKS Foundation where today I am Chief Technology Officer.In 2017 I started studying Distributed Ledger Technologies and their potential in applications outside financial context. Also due to the technical experience on IoT we made at ISMB and LINKS, the IOTA architecture caught my attention, and I have been following the developments and improvements of their network, also working on projects with the help of students from Politecnico di Torino working on their master's thesis. In all these years I developed my firm belief about the importance of granting free access for young generations to practical experiences as well as places where they can fully express (and share) their creativity: it is one of the reasons why in 2012 I accepted to join a group of 40 professionals to start a private incubator of startups with international ambition (www.istarter.it), today ClubDealOnline (https://www.clubdealonline.com).

It caught my attention for the way it was standing out in the fast growing crowd of DLT projects and architectures. The fascinating design of the Tangle and its operating principles, the way it was born and still is carried out by the founding team and the great developers' community, all contributed to my desire to better understand its basics. Working with three master's students of Politecnico di Torino we had the opportunity to see the project quickly unfold, from the first public announcements to the dissemination boost started September 2017, which was followed by many expressions of interest and support coming from small and large companies. Our students caught up quite fast, and we were able to join the Data Marketplace pilot project in December 2017. I definitely became a strong supporter of IOTA, even if I am not directly involved in any development or design activities. I am lucky enough to work for a company where we help young graduates start their professional career. I pave the way for them to build up their muscles before taking off for the most amazing and challenging trips technology can offer today. And I have to say that DLT, IOTA and the Tangle are among the most popular destinations. -
