Envisioned, developed, and implementing Financial Services for the Poor's team strategy in Ethiopia. The portfolio ranges from advocating for an enabling regulatory environment to deploying a national interoperable retail payment platform.

Supported the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), specifically the Digital Financial Services team in various projects across Sub-Saharan Africa. Some achievements include consulting one of the largest banks in Kenya on how to transition to a digital bank. Further, recruited and assembled a team to conduct a diagnostic and provide training to a microfinance institution in Rwanda to help them boost their agency banking operation and reduce their non-performing loans.

Designed and developed innovative products that addressed systemic challenges for middle and low-income Ethiopians. Some of the products I developed include index-based crop microinsurance, bill payment collection, and market linkage for small-holder farmers. I was responsible for the end-to-end product development cycle from product strategy, quantitative and qualitative user research, product roadmap, developing product requirement documents, UX/UI design, and cross-functional team collaboration with engineering and commercial.

Improved the client onboarding process to facilitate trading Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), Credit Default Swaps (CDS) and Forex (FX) financial products for high-net-worth companies. Further, I developed an Excel-based predictive macro using multiple data sources that analyzed and flagged both client information errors as well as potential transaction failures. This significantly minimized Morgan Stanley's overall financial risk exposure.
