Current• Prepare and teach daily lesson plans to achieve curriculum goals and meet Common Core Standards• Design diverse curriculum to formally assess students’ progress in relation to standards• Facilitate and foster a welcoming, challenging, and engaging learning environment to empower students to use their mathematical knowledge to think critically, analyze data, and justify their thinking• Co-teach the inclusion class and collaborate with my partner teacher to address the needs of students with IEP’S and create an equitable learning experience• Teach EL Clusters using different strategies so that students have an opportunity to learn regardless of language as CCUSD ranks as 4th most diverse district in the country• Tutored Spanish speaking students after school by reteaching and explaining concepts in Spanish to develop conceptual understanding of math and increase their overall grades• Active collaborator and contributor to PLC team by being lead teacher for Accelerated Math 7 and Math 7 where we redesigned the curriculum for ACC 7 • Taught Summer Bridge Program to incoming 6th graders to ease their transition to middle school life by teaching language arts, math, and art, with an emphasis on the development of their social emotional skills• Member of the social emotional committee where students with social emotional challenges were partnered with mentor teachers to foster relationships, and delivered strategies to other teachers about social emotional practices to build community in the classroom and build community in the school• Attend Professional Development courses to develop practice in the implementation of Technological Tools and enhance knowledge to work with special student populations including EL’s/IEP’s/Gate• Attend Professional Development courses to understand students’ Cognitive Learning and the brain to implement new techniques in the classroom to enhance the overall classroom environment and design
