Now a leading chocolate brand, Alter Eco was first to source and market fair trade rice, quinoa, olive oil, and hearts of palm. A leader in the responsible business & social venture space, the Company was one of the first Public Benefit Corporations (PBC) and B Corporations, achieving the highest B Corp score for the food and consumer packaged goods (CPG) sectors (151 Overall B Impact Score). We developed and implemented as the Company’s mission driver Full Circle Sustainability, which encompasses social justice (fair trade), the environment (organic & non GMO), climate (carbon in-setting and reforestation) and sustainable packaging. Non-GMO, plant-based, home-compostable packaging was developed and deployed for some of our lines (chocolate truffles wrappers), as well as proprietary compostable stand-up pouches for Alter Eco’s line of quinoa.
