Commander Edward Pallas, Ed.D. is a certified Executive Coach and has been a police officer with the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCP), in Maryland, for 28 years. Ed has served as a Conflict/Hostage negotiator for the last 21 years. He is currently the Commander of the 5th District. His prior assignments at MCP include the Director of the Major Crimes Division, the Director of the Training and Education Division, and the Chief of Staff.Doctor Pallas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1992. In May of 2011, he earned his Master of Science in Management from Johns Hopkins University, specializing in applied behavioral science. In 2016 he graduated from Wilmington University as a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership and Innovation. His thesis is titled, The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence, Transformational Leadership Style, and Effectiveness among Police Supervisors. Ed is an instructor with FBI LEEDA and a certified International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Master Instructor in the Leadership in Police OrganizationsSM (LPO) program. He has had the privilege to teach thousands of professionals from around the world. Dr. Pallas is a keynote speaker and trainer who is skilled in the Socratic Method and keeps his audience members engaged and eager to learn.
