developing a state of the art client server implementation of a network performance manager. The multi-threaded Java server provides a simple RMI interface to SNMP based network element performance data, including the ability to schedule polling of the element statistics over time. The actual statistical parameter set definitions is maintained externally to the server. This allows adding new or modifying existing statistical sets without recompiling the server. The Swing based client makes extensive use of the MVC architecture for presenting the data in multiple views, including the use of KL Group's JCChart. Java printing support is also provided for JTable and JCChart views. The client delegates the server communication to two server proxy classes. One for the RMI server and another for a legacy socket based system that talks to TL1 network elements. The proxies will allow for the phase II server, which will combine SNMP and TL1 functionality, to be integrated into the client with minor modifications to the client code.Because I Network; This is a part-time venture to create a shopping agent website for printers and printer supplies. The site was developed using Java Server Pages (JSP) and Java Servlets talking to a MySQL database running on a Linux/Apache platform. The MVC architecture was used to separate the presentation logic (JSP) from the business rules (Servlets). To gather the printer quotes from the various online vendors, web agents were created to retrieve and extract the quotes from the vendor's web sites. Using object oriented design techniques, agent functionality was generalized to the point of being able to use a single agent for all vendors. The agent was specialized through the use of an XML-like vendor specific configuration file.

for a development project to automate the 3D engineering analysis of turbine airfoils. This was a large project to integrate many legacy system into one automated and user-friendly process. This aggressive project resulted in the design of a reusable and scalable component based architecture for finite element model manipulations. The resulting architecture and software libraries have been extensively used for other efforts requiring these capabilities. The final product reduced 2D analysis cycle time from about two weeks to just less than one hour. The corresponding 3D process cycle time was reduced from three months to about one week. The 3D product includes sophisticated geometric and finite element Modeling techniques. The system has been used in support of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF/JAST) program.Lead Architect/Developer for a sophisticated engineering analysis tool used to map finite element thermal results to a dissimilar structural model. This project employs a 2-tiered architecture with a C++ RPC server and a standard finite element pre-processor (Patran) as the front end. Development time for this project was significantly reduced through the use of the previously developed finite element component based framework.
