Key goals were to reduce development time and improve productivity/efficiency of engineering team.ActionsImplemented Agile development process to break stalemate between Engineering & Product Management. Completely reorganized engineering team in US and India.Results• Agile process reduced development cycle from 6 months to 3 releases in 15 months, including a significant redesign that was on a trajectory to take 12 months. • This allowed the sales team to sell the new release at least 6 months earlier than they expected. • Revenues grew from $1M to $4M during this period.• Trust significantly improved between Engineering and Product Management teams.• Success led directly to acquisition by CA.

Evaluated my staff; promoted a couple of individuals to managers, mentored and supported them. Built a model for how to achieve the metrics we were accountable for. Developed creative solution allowing QA to “borrow” engineers from the development organization at key times. Results• Achieved Quality goals within 12 months including automation of over 90% of all test cases, a 90% reduction in defect backlog, 100% test coverage, and zero known P1 defects at GA.• Ensured the on-time delivery of the highest quality releases in product suite history, including one major and one minor release of the entire product line and >100 product-specific service packs.• Led the effort to create new testware development methodology increasing the number of P1 and P2 defects found during testing by >50% and providing greater visibility earlier in development cycle. Methodology was adopted company wide.• Morale and respect of the HCM QA team was transformed; ultimately people from other BU’s were routinely applying for positions within the HCM QA team.
