I have over eight years of experience in scientific computing in general and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) in particular. Recently, my focus has been on extending high-order compressible flow solvers to effectively manage open boundaries using non-reflective boundary conditions (NRBCs). My main experience has been in the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method (DG-FEM), but I have also worked with finite volumes (FVM) and differences (FDM). I have also dedicated significant effort to large-eddy simulation (LES) and turbulence studies. How did I get here? From the moment I wrote my first scientific program, I was captivated. I knew this was my career path; the only question was how to pursue it.This realization occurred during my undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering, specifically while working on finite element methods (FEM). Consequently, I went on to earn a master's degree in computational science and a PhD in CFD. Years later, I still can't imagine doing anything else. The idea of transforming abstract concepts into reality through mathematical relations, such as partial differential equations (PDEs) describing complex phenomena like turbulence, via software development is endlessly fascinating. Wouldn't you agree?Good news: I am passionate about fluid dynamics, (scientific) software development, computational methods and algorithms, high-performance computing (HPC), composing and playing music. Bad news: I keep pretending to know tennis.

Investigation Between The Pml And The Nscbc In The Context Of The Dg-FemCerfacs May 2021 - Jul 2021Enschede, Overijssel, Netherlands*) A multi-zone parallel C++ solver has been developed in order to evaluate open boundaries via a DG-FEM.*) A new variant of the Navier-Stokes characteristic boundary condition (NSCBC) is developed.*) A perfectly matched layer (PML) is implemented which serves as a benchmark buffer layer method. -
Simulation Of A Tbl-Zpg Over A Flat Plate Via Su2Stanford University Mar 2021 - May 2021Enschede, Overijssel, Netherlands*) A zero-pressure-gradient flat-plate turbulent boundary layer is studied numerically over low-Re.*) Different bump sizes were investigated for upstream turbulence generation mechanisms. *) A sponge layer is implemented in the open-source finite volume solver of SU2. *) Comparisons also included a DG-FEM solution using a comparable number of degrees-of-freedom.
