Dr. Shepherd grew up in the Western suburbs of Chicago. His college adventures took him to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the University of Iowa and Western Washington State College. During his college career Dr. Shepherd was a competitive springboard diver. During a diving practice session Dr. Shepherd injured his lower back. He sought care from his family doctor which failed to resolve his condition. A referral from his diving coach to a well-known Chiropractor, Dr. Joe Stucky, changed his life. His lower back condition quickly improved. The concepts of Chiropractic fascinated Dr. Shepherd, so he changed his course of study from Pre-Dentistry to Pre-Chiropractic. In 1981 he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, Iowa.Dr. Shepherd has been in private practice since 1981. Since 1983 he has specialized in the Activator Method. In 1992 he became an instructor for Activator Methods International. He currently is a Senior Clinical Instructor. Teaching takes him across the country sharing his knowledge of Activator and Chiropractic with other doctors. He has owned and operated practices in Illinois and Maine. Currently he resides in Seattle with his wife Cheryl. Outside of the office he enjoys fly fishing, hiking and spending time with his family and friends.
