I've been an instructor in higher education for more than a decade, with experience designing dozens of innovative courses across the humanities, and I've taught thousands of students at several different institutions. In addition I'm a free-lance writer and journalist with bylines at The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, and The Paris Review, as well as a staff writer for The Millions and an editor at the British site Berfrois, and the author of three books published by the British press Zero Books. My writing and commentary appears several times a month at dozens of different sites. I have the ability to read, synthesize, analyze, and write about massive amounts of information very quickly, and would be happy to work in higher education, publishing, journalism, or political advocacy.
