Responsible for the direction of the Petrolina Site. The Unit has more than 100 direct people and a total of 800+ people dedicated to the research and development of corn and soy. Our focus is the development of people and the team. Thousands of new genetic materials are developed through modern breeding techniques. The Site also produces tens of thousands of new maize hybrids and introduces biotechnology and native maize characteristics. Finally, the entire initial process of Suppy Chain is carried out in the unit to meet the entire corn market in Brazil.

In partnership with CIBio secretariat ensured the application and maintenance of biosafety policies and procedures. This ensured the observation and adherence of Monsanto Sugarcane Business personnel to the regulation framework of Brazilian biosafety legislation and internal Company stewardship policies.

Led the development of greenhouse and field testing strategies to select and advance biotechnology traits in sugarcane, aligning local breeders and US Biotech experts’ views. The strategies were used to develop and evaluate the traits in cane. Designed the test of Ag Traits herbicide chemistries, including glyphosate in sugarcane. Started the Entomology platform in Brazil to use in Bt trait characterization and evaluation. This platform was later developed to serve trait biotech delivery for row crops product assessment in Brazil
Trait And Product Development Director
Alellyx was a venture funded Brazilian startup company focused in agricultural biotechnology. In partnership with Votorantim Novos Negócios, developed Alellyx start up which was sold to Monsanto Company. Co-led the advancement of biotechnology traits in eucalyptus, citrus and sugarcane and the development of business strategies, including resource fund raise and project based management. Implemented and developed the platforms for molecular and phenotypic characterization methods, in the lab, greenhouse and field for these crops. Developed the safety for Conchal site and property maintenance for the business.

Managed pre-commercial and genetic quality activities for corn,soy and cotton business thru a 100+ total people organization across the different Supply Chain sites and the management of Barretos site.
