With over 25 years of experience in higher education, 15 years in government, and short stints in private industry, I have the privilege to lead the School of Public Policy and Government and the Brazil-Japan Center on Innovation and Sustainability at FGV, one of the most prestigious and influential think tanks in the world (currently #3 in the world). What drives me is a strong passion to help change the world towards a more prosperous, sustainable, and just society. I have an engineering degree from Sao Paulo University, and Master and Ph.D. degrees in Public Policy from Harvard University. In addition to my academic and research responsibilities at FGV, I volunteer in several roles at organizations that are impacting the well being of society, such as President of the Accreditation Board of EQUAA, an international agency that promotes quality assurance and improvement in education, as President of the Advisory Council of ANGRAD (National Association of Undergraduate Programs in Management of Brazil), and as co-founder and Member of the Advisory Board of i9Sol Institute, an NGO dedicated to fostering independence and autonomy to communities in remote areas of Brazil, by helping them build small factories of solar panel production to bring significant benefits to local communities.Com mais de 25 anos de experiência no ensino superior, 15 anos no governo e curtas passagens na indústria privada, cuido da Escola de Políticas Públicas e Governo e do Centro Brasil-Japão de Inovação e Sustentabilidade da FGV, um dos mais prestigiosos think tanks do mundo (atualmente 3º lugar no mundo). O que me move é uma forte paixão por ajudar a mudar o mundo em direção a uma sociedade mais próspera, mais sustentável e mais justa. Sou formado em engenharia de produção pela Universidade de São Paulo, com mestrado e doutorado em Políticas Públicas pela Universidade de Harvard.Além de minhas responsabilidades acadêmicas e de pesquisas na FGV, procuro dedicar-me voluntariamente assumindo papéis diversos em organizações que impactam a sociedade, tais como, Presidente do Conselho de Credenciamento da EQUAA, uma agência internacional que promove a garantia e melhoria da qualidade na educação, como Presidente do Conselho Consultivo da ANGRAD (Associação Nacional de Programas de Graduação em Administração) e cofundador e Membro do Conselho Consultivo do Instituto i9Sol, uma ONG dedicada a promover a independência e a autonomia de comunidades nas áreas remotas do Brasil, treinando-as para construir pequenas fábricas de produção de painéis solares operadas de forma cooperativa.
