I am passionate about carrier-class wireless technology evolution with active leadership roles in Qualcomm’s technology for terminal handsets, heterogeneous networks base stations and most recently broadband space communications system design. Received distinguished contributor awards for my work on Qualcomm world’s first LTE multi-mode handset chipsets, Qualcomm’s Small Cell’s chipset development and support to commercialization of advanced features with Cellular Operators and OEMs in the Americas, Europe and Asia.Worked in the Research and Development of space communications technology which offers the last frontier for a world ubiquitous low latency broadband internet access. The system we designed would be the world's first and largest global communication system via a constellation of hundreds of LEO broadband satellites by 2020s. I was excited working on the design of the system’s Link Adaptation, Power Control, QoS-aware MAC multi-user scheduler and Data Radio Bearer Management; these not only define performance, capacity and user’s QoE, but also define the possible commercialization and business models to serve millions of users around the world.Currently I’m working on the Research and Development of 5G communications systems. My work is centered on mmWave applications for truly mobile systems where both the Transmitting and Receiving Points are mobile in a peer-to-peer distributed communication topology rather than a conventional point-to-multipoint topology as in NR cellular systems. My design efforts directly deal with the PHY/MAC aspects of Beam management, distributed RRM, proximity discovery procedures and connection establishment; they also deal with innovative mmWave V2X applications impacting our society in future when such technology enables the connected autonomous driving vehicles.
