Development engineer in GM Advanced Technology Vehicles group.• Developed algorithms based on Extended Kalman Filters and Regressive Least Squares which dramatically improved battery state estimation accuracy and robustness for lead acid (PbA) and Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) traction battery packs. This work resulted in multiple patents for battery state of charge and health monitoring. These algorithms are used in GM and other OEM production vehicles.• Demonstrated application of dynamic and linear programming to finding optimal operational schedules for a parallel hybrid electric powertrain.
