As a network engineer at LyondellBasell, one of the largest plastics, chemicals, and refining companies in the world, I work with engineers on Cisco switches/routers for both lifecycle upgrades and trouble calls. I also maintain internal and external DNS servers and cloud-based equipment monitoring. I have over a year of experience in this role, and I hold the CompTIA Security+ and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications.Before becoming a network engineer, I was an operations technician and a turnaround operations lead at LyondellBasell for 12 years. I was a qualified distillation, furnace, and compressor technician, and a control board operator utilizing DCS software. I also upgraded to a supervisor position after completing a leadership foundations course. I was an active member of the site safety team, implementing several safety projects based on data collected from observations. I was also assigned as the trainer for new hires within the ethylene unit. Additionally, I was part of the site HAZMAT, rescue, and fire brigade. I received multiple awards for my performance and contributions, including one from an Admiral and one from my Commanding Officer. I am passionate about safety, technology, and learning. I enjoy playing golf and spending time with my kids when I am not working. I am always interested in new technology, computers, smartphones, and tablets.
