I am owner of Ecotec (formerly Spark Energy) and Lumbr, a full service biomass energy company specialised in wood-fired systems, biomass fragmentation and one of New Zealand's leading suppliers of fuel-grade wood chips to the commercial market. We help heat users lower their heating costs by employing the latest biomass boiler technology and make a big difference to their environmental footprint while doing so. I thoroughly enjoy making a difference in a market traditionally serviced by engineers and product-focused market participants and help transform the market to a solution-driven space. Prior to founding Ecotec (Spark Energy), I co-founded and ran a major leisure and property business, Snowplanet (www.snowplanet.co.nz) from 2001 onwards.
