ED ESTRADA is Director of Production at the San Diego Symphony, one of the largest and most significant cultural organizations in San Diego, which offers a wide variety of programming at its two much-loved venues, the Jacobs Music Center’s Copley Symphony Hall in downtown San Diego and the one-of-a-kind waterfront concert venue, The Rady Shell at the Embarcadero Marina Park South.

ED ESTRADA has built more than 37 years of expertise and leadership skills across all aspects of venue and production management. He has overseen both backstage and front-of-house functions, including contract management, and held key leadership roles in opening two state-of-the-art performing arts centers, as well as the relaunch of a renovated theater. Ed now brings his broad background to focus on consulting projects in the cultural arts, where he most recently helped refine workflow procedures and enhanced teamwork between front-of-house and backstage departments at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts (Beaverton, OR). Previously, Ed served as Vice President of Operations for McCallum Theater (Palm Desert, CA). While Director of Production for the Bankhead Theater (Livermore, CA), he concurrently assumed the role of Interim Theater Manager during a period of major organizational transition. In addition to working at venues, Ed toured globally as Production Manager for Diavolo Dance Theater. He holds a B.S. from San Diego State University and an M.S. in Arts Administration from Drexel University.

ED ESTRADA was Vice President of Operations for the 1127-seat McCallum Theater, the premier arts venue in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert region with approximately 140 performances each season, as well as nearly four dozen educational, cultural and community events. Within operations, he oversaw all backstage and front-of-house functions, as well as contract management.

Estrada is from San Diego, CA and has a bachelor's degree in communications from San Diego State University and a master's degree in arts administration from Drexel University."

This is Ed Estrada's second performing arts venue where he was an integral part in opening the venue from construction to being a fully operational performing arts center. Ed is proud to have established an atmosphere where safety, integrity and professionalism are hailed.Ed exceeds job description expectations and helps lead in programming, booking and contract administration. His past experiences in establishing cordial and professional relationships with venue users has helped Ed in this exciting new endeavor. The 716 seat Performing Arts & Event Center is a year round conference and meeting facility conveniently located just 20 minutes from SeaTac airport. This beautiful south King County location is perfect for business, educational, and private events. The venue's grand opening was in August 2017.

• Implemented production policies and procedures, trained and led new staff to become a highly regarded professional team; implemented SIPs protocol (Safety, Integrity and Professionalism), consistently receive high praise from all who perform at LVPAC.• Oversaw the transformation of the new LVPAC stage from a hard-hat construction site into a fully functional and pristine performance stage; became a leader on the LVPAC team in short time; collaborated with others on staff; used professional experience to develop new-hire staff into skilled professionals at their respective positions. • Integral with programming for the LVPAC Presents seasons since 2013 and signed contracts with artists or artist agents for LVPAC Presents series; negotiated touring artist transportation, lodging and hospitality needs while adhering to local policies, codes and laws; • Helped organization in other capacities including operational, programming and contract management.

• Supervised daily operations, attended board meetings, governance committee meetings and community arts councils meetings; led team in developing organization’s budget, led staff meetings, fostered staff development; performed accounts payable, signed rental contracts andbank checks; hired management staff; conducted performance evaluations; created a “donor-centric” environment organization wide; implemented strategic planning process.

Applied professional experience and leadership; successfully assimilated to an existing team and became a champion of the organization within a very short time.Coordinated all pre-production logistics including: advancing with venues, setting schedules, booking hotels and trucking, and securing ground & air transportation.Served multiple roles including: Tour Manager, Road Manager, Stage Manager, Technical Director, and Rigger. Comfortable with Master Electrician and Audio Engineering roles.

• Developed a professional production department in a world class venue adept at effectively working with both national artists and resident community organizations.• Supervised the successful operations of the production department and all requirements including: scheduling of events and technical personnel, developing budgets, reports & payroll, maintenance of theatre equipment, and purchasing; all while maintaining good working relationships with theatre staff & community organizations.• Welcomed the opportunity to work with “Arts and Education,” a program in which students from local schools worked and performed alongside professional artists.
