I am an external member of Santillana’s board of directors. I’m the only non-MD permanent member of the board and have been on the new projects committee for the last 5 years. In the last 12 years, the company has grown fivefold in sales and has expanded into at least 10 new business units.

Surtifacil was born as the equivalent of Alibaba.com for the food industry in the Latin American B2B marketplace. I spent all the money I had earned from the infusion pump business, but after 3 years of trying to monetize the site, we didn’t reach break-even and ended the company.
