• Collaborated closely with a PhD student on research involving the investigation of 3-D hypersonic, non-continuum, and thermal non-equilibrium flow over a cylinder using Direct Simulation Monte Carlo methods (DSMC).• Developed, wrote, and debugged a C++ program designed to identify intersections between particle velocity rays and finite cylinders.• Integrated this ray-cylinder intersection program into the in-house DSMC SUGAR code, enhancing the code’s ability to conduct 3-D simulations of hypersonic flows.
