Promoted to manage a team of ten software testers and contractors in the Quality Assurance group. The Quality Assurance group is responsible for testing more than ten software applications that support the Claims, Underwriting, Insurance Operations, and Accounting departments for an insurance organization that manages more than 260,000 policies and more than 100,000 claims. Managed the testing process for the conversion of TWIA legacy systems to Guidewire systems including BillingCenter and PolicyCenter. Worked in conjunction with Ernst & Young consultants during part of the implementation of Guidewire products using Agile methodologies. Created the test plans for multiple projects and coordinated the creation of the test cases for all conversion projects. Directed the automation of test cases for the Guidewire accounting and underwriting applications with QTP and Janova automation products. Coordinated the deployment of new builds to production. Investigated, prioritized and assigned defects among the multiple projects. Established processes to involve the QA group during development in order to understand the functionality being fixed and the areas affected by the resolution. This helped the QA members test the applications more effectively. Responsible for interviewing and hiring employees for the QA group.

Promoted to Project Manager to manage the conversion of the legacy applications to .Net / Java applications. Managed the user acceptance testing for the converted applications. The conversion was one of the most successful projects in the company. Managed four projects to create web applications for improving the communication between adjusters and the claims department (Adjuster Portal); another portal to allow policy holders view their claims (Policyholder Portal); a portal to allow the call center enter new claims remotely (Call Center Portal); and a module in the Agent Portal to allow insurance agents enter new claims (Agent Portal FNOL module). I was responsible for creating requirements for the four project. Created test documentation for the user community and coordinated the execution of the user acceptance testing. Excellent communicator between the multiple disciplines (underwriting, claims department, PMO, Developers, Quality Assurance, and IT Operations) associated with the projects.

Tested Java, .Net, and Delphi applications that manipulated data for over 150,000 insurance policies. Created and executed test plans and test cases for legacy insurance applications created with Delphi. Created and executed test plans and test cases for a project that converted the Delphi applications to Java and .Net applications. Coordinated the User Acceptance Testers with the underwriting department. Tested the web application used by over 2000 agents to create and update new policies. Created and executed test cases for a web application that allowed insurance agents to submit applications for insurance through the internet. Worked with Rational Robot to automate some test cases for the web application. Researched other automated tools to make the automation more cost effective.

Created test cases for a web site to store and communicate medical results to physicians nationwide. Executed test plans for a Laboratory Information System website that creates and submits medical test orders to laboratories. Created software functional requirements for a laboratory application that customized medical exam forms. Created test cases for the Customized Medical Exam Form application. Reported status of testing execution and tracked defects with ClearQuest. Test lead in the Oncology project to upgrade a LIS to Delphi and Oracle for more than 307,000 records. The Oncology unit is the most delicate and profitable unit of all LIS in the Esoterix group of laboratories.

Created test plans including over 700 test cases in a short three weeks period for www.TotalPort.com a web application providing email, data storage, and hosting services. Worked 16 hours a day to complete projects with aggressive deadlines. Coordinated testing among twenty employees from Client Services, Marketing, and Engineering groups of the company during acceptance testing. Generated weekly and daily defect reports of all seven modules of the product. Worked with Project Manager to improve the QA processes for the company.

Created and executed test plans to verify the ISI patented compressed file system cache suite in a Windows environment. This suite consists of a cache and a hardware driver which when combined with ISI hardware, improves performance of servers by a factor of 2. Executed WHQL [Windows Hardware Quality Labs] tests by using the Hardware Compatibility kits [HCT] to ensure the compatibility of ISI hardware with Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Started and Managed the Quality Assurance group for Expeditrix.com. Established the quality assurance processes for testing all SmartClose products which entire architecture was based on Java, XML, and SmallTalk. Created and executed test plans for all seven projects of Expeditrix. Created and coordinated the plans for acceptance testing for all major releases of our products. Setup and maintained ClearQuest and its SQL Server database for tracking defects for all projects. Evaluated and selected SilkTest as the automated testing tool for regression testing. Exported Word test plans to SilkTest and created the frame file to initiate automated scripting. Coordinated acceptance testing for all projects of the product. Due to resources limitations, I was the only person creating testing processes, creating test plans, researching automated testing tools, and executing the testing process for more than seven projects of SmartClose, a real estate web product.

Organized and led the QA department of 4 people. Led the testing for four concurrent projects related to InfoGlide's patented Similarity Search Engine (SSE). Evaluated automated testing tools to find the best match for testing the company's products. Made decision to acquire SilkTest as the regression-testing tool. Quality Assurance ManagerResponsible for leading the planning and writing of test requirements during the software life cycle for applications that manage over 5 billion dollars of retirement funds. Created test scripts using automated regression-testing tool (SQA Suite 6.1) for all the applications managing the funds. Responsible for researching technology that can improve the efficiency of the testing process for all the company's software programs. Installed and maintained the SQL Anywhere database that stores four years of SQA repositories in an NT server. Analyzed the business process and wrote software requirements for 25 functional areas of the project. Certified and created certification report for in-house applications for year 2000 compliance.Software Developer: Developed and maintained computer applications using Access, Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, and Crystal Reports. Created stored procedures in SQL Server to incorporate with the reports created in Crystal Reports. Scripted SQA procedures in SQA Basic.Accomplishments: Incorporated the test plans with the software requirements in order to complete the test plan execution three weeks ahead of schedule. Produced the Y2K testing plan for the two major programs that manage over 1.5 billion dollars in client’s retirement funds. Produced report certifying Y2K compliance of the two major applications and, which private consultant auditors have approved.

Developed and maintained a dBASE database for 213 school districts in order to evaluate over 20,000 records. Created an Access application to analyze data in order to prepare evaluation plans for the clients. Generated statistical reports using Excel and Word. Analyzed and developed new projects to bring new business to the company, which increased the division's annual revenue by 15%. Wrote software-training manuals for training clients to use PC software, such as Excel and IMS Plus.Accomplishments: Produced a dBASE application to evaluate student progress for over 200 school districts. The application replaced a mainframe application and saved the company 1 hour of data entry and process time per school district per semester.
