Working as part of a team and being responsible for the care of the house, which accommodated up to 8,000 guests per year on holidays, conferences and retreats. Work involved the understanding of, and adherence to, health and safety regulations in the daily handling of chemicals and lifting of heavy weights. Close interaction with the guests; both during my work responsibilities, ensuring the guests have all they need for a comfortable stay, and as member of a ‘host team’, which organized guest activities for the time of their stay. Making presentations for the guests, communicating clear announcements and leading activities. Being at Lee Abbey involved living as part of a multi-cultural community, which gave me the interest in, and the chance to learn about, many other cultures.

I have had the opportunity to work in a Resort in Brazil located in the south of the country, a very touristic and relaxing place where people can have contact with nature in a direct way. I believe it’s been one of the greatest achievements in my life this opportunity to work on a cruise ship starting as a housekeeper and after a while being indicated to join the Guest Relation Team having a closer contact with the passengers which has given me a valuable experience.
