• Provide support to the Environmental Health Coordinator to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Environmental Health Team.• Provide comprehensive information to the team and other City employees in order to share knowledge on matters related to environmental health.• Take the lead on specialised projects and strategies and develop procedures and practices towards ongoing improvement.• Assist in the review, development and maintenance of systems, management practices and evaluations to ensure continuous business improvement• Administer and enforce the provisions of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1911, the Public Health Act 2016 and the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and all associated regulations to ensure an acceptable standard of Environmental Health is maintained throughout the City of South Perth in accordance with statutory requirements.• Undertake regular surveillance of premises, public buildings and aquatic facilities and recreational waters in accordance with legislative requirements.• Undertake food and environmental sampling and effectively communicate results and required actions to relevant parties.• Liaise as appropriate with other employees, local authorities, professional and government bodies and interest groups on matters relating to environmental health.• Undertake the review and assessment of public events followed by the necessary inspections.

• Coordinate the delivery of Environmental Health and Event approval Services and oversee the day to day work activities and performance of the respective teams;• Coordinate the functions of the Environmental Health team in accordance with statutory requirements set out in the provisions of Legislation, Council Policy and Strategic Plan, customer service charter, budget provisions and delegations to ensure they are delivered in a professional, timely, customer focused and cost effective manner; and• Actively contribute towards business excellence through continuous improvement by initiating, developing and evaluating changes to systems, operations and procedures to improve the Environmental Health & Events Services team’s productivity and customer service levels.
