 Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department (related to design and development of new models of washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners and electric fans for the consumer market). Approves all designs, specifications, and related documents (considering Quality, Cost, Safety, Timely delivery, After-sales service, etc.) of newly-developed models, prior to mould fabrication and market introduction. Approves requirements of the Design Change process, Value Engineering, and Cost Reduction activities. Oversees activities of the department’s various sections, including personnel matters for all department employees (performance evaluation, promotions, etc.). Prepares the department’s annual Business Plan and other major documents. Supports in the preparation of the company’s Annual Merchandising Plan. Manages support to the production departments’ engineering activities (cost reduction, current models’ design improvements for production efficiency, etc.) Responsible for preparations for audits (including facing the auditors on the audit days).
