The project consists in studying, implementing and developing metaheuristics for a variant of the well known Vehicle Routing Problem. Given the presence of this problem both in Operations Research literature and real logistic applications, the study aims to build algorithms to solve it, pursuing to reduce transportation costs in a reduced computational time.

Research on a problem emerging from the distribution operations of food baskets in Brazil, involving the development of mathematical models and algorithms aimed at optimizing the last-mile activities of the brazilian's National Supply Company (Conab).

This work included the development and implementation of a mathematical model for optimizing the strategic planning of Citrosuco in its planting process. Sintetically, the model aimed to maximize the companie's productivity while respecting constraints related to space, age and variety of crops.The activities involved data processing and parameterization.

In a joint work involving some of Cielo's workers and professors of the Industrial Engineering Department of UFSCar, it was developed a project that aimed to analyze the processes and operations of the companie's logistics sector. It was given special attention to the card machines and the logistics involving their acquisition, substitution and repairing.
