Leads execution of the audit process (primarily as in-charge) and may also participate inaudits to provide subject matter knowledge/skills and/or to design and conduct tests of internal controls.Performs audits of Wells Fargo’s infrastructure, particularly in Information and Cyber Security and distributed systems. Identifies and assesses key risks and controls and develops effective test plans for Engagements as assigned with limited guidance. Exhibits an understanding of the technical infrastructureOften leads multiple concurrent projects that are generally moderate to large and moderate to high in complexity; when leading audits, develops and applies leadership and project management skills.Develops valuable and trusting relationships with internal business partners.Demonstrates strong subject matter knowledge in critical areas of technology including operating systems, networks, application processing environments, and information security.Demonstrates professional skepticism; presents audit results in an objective and unbiased manner; writes opinions that lead to logical conclusions; escalates significant risks and loss exposures to management.

Monitor and advice on Information Security issues related to the systems and workflow at UT-Brownsville to ensure the internal security controls for the campus are operating as intended.Report as State Agency's (747) designated ISO for state reporting. Coordinate and execute IT security projects for the university.Coordinate response to information security incidents.Conduct campus-wide data classification assessment and security audits and manage remediation plans.Create, manage, and maintain user security awareness.Conduct security research in keeping abreast of the latest security issues.Prepares OIS (Office of Information Security) documentation campus notifications, Web content, and ITS alerts.Perform other related duties as assigned.

Instructor for a wide variety of Computer/Information Technology including the following: Introduction to Computer Essentials, Advanced MS Office 2007 Suite Course, Computer Accounting I & 2II Keyboarding I & II.Assisted as a part time/ IT liaison for better usage of network and infrastructure resources at the campus. This included servicing PC's that needed on site support to maximize classroom time and instruction for all courses being held at this specific campus.

Find new ways to find and proactively defend any type of attacks to any TxDOT system and/or Information Resource. Stay up to date with the latest threats, and most notably how to prevent and mitigate them (i.e. Conficker Worm) Implemented and supervised TxDOT’s 1st major risk assessment via the ISAAC (Information Security Awareness, Assessment, and Compliance System) this risk assessment implements tools to meet compliance needs in the following areas: Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery Planning Risk Assessment, HIPAA Module, PCI Module, and Physical Security. Https://isaac.tamu.edu/ISAAC/2009/index.cfm Conducted penetration tests on distinct areas of TxDOT IT infrastructure. Process and executes requests regarding RDBMS security, Mainframe, and PeopleSoft which are the lifelines of TxDOT’S interoperability with other state agencies and within its own district offices and divisions. Extensive Knowledge with the Texas Administrative Code 202 (TAC 202). Knowledge of the University of Texas System Information Resources and Security Policy (UT165). General Knowledge on the following Information Security related educational standards and Legal acts set forth by the United States Government and other governing legal bodies. They are as follows: HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), GLBA (Graham-Leach-Bliley Act), PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) Write and edit policy regarding Information Security related IT infrastructure. (e.g. RDBMS Security) Responsible for quarterly and monthly Information Security Newsletters and Bulletins for all of TxDOT. Fixed technical, business and management problems and provided feedback for better implementation of Information Technology Resources, such as new laptops-hardware and software. (e.g. Full Disk Hard Drive Encryption Software)
