I am currently a lecturer in economics at the Universidad Francisco Marroquín. I hold two undergraduate degrees, in political science and law, and two master's degrees in social research methods and economics. My focus is on monetary and banking theory and history because money, as the commonly accepted medium of exchange, affects the whole economy and causes business cycles, and banks because that is where the money is. I am also interested in these areas because I can apply much of what I have learned from all the disciplines I have studied; from monetary policy to banking regulation and quantitative and qualitative analysis of crises and business cycles history. That said, I am also interested in and have conducted research on libertarian philosophy, epistemology, ethics, economic history, and state regulation.
