As a company Director of respected Queensland-based architects Phillips Smith Conwell, I am acknowledged in the design, development and construction documentation aspects of project delivery. I have particular skills in the master planning, funding strategy development, and physical delivery of education projects. I am also experienced in retail, ecclesiastic, and residential environment architecture, and have completed a sizeable portfolio of projects in my professional career in Australia, Brunei and the United Kingdom. My interest in the architecture of education environments (amongst other things) has lured me to national and international learning locations including Singapore, Germany and Italy. Within the partnership of our Brisbane-based practice, I have designed and delivered a broad spectrum of projects with a particular interest in early learning education. On my last European study tour I focussed on central Italy where the origins of the Reggio Emilia movement champions progressive and cooperative early childhood education within specialised and purpose-built architecture. As one of my numerous extra-curricular commitments, I am positively engaged in the development management and international delivery of emergency shelter solutions, which I function within both commercial and not-for-profit paradigms.
