I am a psychotherapist working primarily with cancer survivors and their families through the Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center. I have training and proficiency in Biofeedback. I use the emWave, which measures Heart Rate Variability. I also use the Neuroptimal neurofeedback system. These interventions are used to assist persons with the management of anxiety, depression and chemobrain.I use biofeedback as an adjunct to counseling. . I am trained in Integrative Health Coaching through Duke Integrative Medicine. Integrative Medicine Health coaching involves working with persons to achieve their optimal vision of health. I am certified in Peggy Huddelston's program, Prepare for Surgery Heal Faster, a guided imagery program.I have extensive training in Bowen Family Systems theory. This theory looks at relationships and health problems from a systems perspective. I have worked in the field of cancer for the last 10 years. My goal is to bring quality services to cancer survivors and their families in ways that improve optimal functioning following the trauma of a cancer diagnosis and cancer treatment experience.
